Gabriela Perez is an Illustrator/Designer/Animator originally from Miami, Florida🌴 now working out of the Northeast🌲
I applied for a job with Northeastern University and did an illustration test for them as part of the screening process. For the assignment, I was given an article and tasked with creating an illustration to pair with the article. Additionally, I presented my illustration and process to their team.
My process began with sketching the thumbnails above. I wanted to be thorough in my exploration and find different angles to represent this article. After creating these thumbnail sketches I went forward with the 3 sketches I felt were the most successful and did a value study on each on to flesh out the concept more.

After determining which sketch was the most successful and aligned best with the context of the article I moved forward with a final sketch and color explorations before landing on the final illustration for the client.
